  • Development/ Communications Internship
    Provide project and administrative support for development team including public relations, fundraising, special events, constituent/ donor communication, publications, media relations and marketing.

    Duties include (but are not limited to):
    Writing news releases/media alerts,pitching and follow-up with media; updating media lists; organizing media clippings; grant writing; donor/constituent correspondence; writing for newsletter and website; event/promotions and project planning/management; fundraising; marketing; aned research.

    Skills required:
    Proficient in MS Word; able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize; self-starter with initiative; basic experience in journalism writing/reporting, event planning, media relations and/or other public relations/ journalism/ advertising/ marketing, business or nonprofit experience helpful. Should be seeking or recently completed an undergraduate degree in public relations, journalism, communications, advertising, marketing or other related field, as well as business or nonprofit management/ administration. If still a student, must be in junior or senior year (highly qualified sophomores will be considered) and have completed or be taking basic coursework in public relations, reporting and/or writing.

  • Wish Granting Internship
    Provide project and administrative support for wish granting team.

    Duties include (but are not limited to):
    Planning and follow-up of wishes for eligible children; will work with staff and volunteers on wish-related issues and projects; assist with wish referral process; execution of wish volunteer communication; updating wish database.

    Skills required:
    Proficient in MS Word; able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize; self-starter with initiative; excellent customer service skills; should be seeking or recently completed an undergraduate degree in social work, child and family studies or other related field. If still a student, must be in junior or senior year (highly qualified sophomores will be considered).

  • Volunteer Management Internship
    Provide project and administrative support to the director of volunteers.

    Duties include (but are not limited to):
    Assisting with creation of support documents such as volunteer handbook and volunteer evaluation surveys; response and retention process for current volunteer force; recruiting for specific volunteers; assisting with volunteer trainings; respond to volunteer inquiries; database updating and maintenance.

    Skills required:
    Proficient in MS Word; able to learn database program; self-starter with initiative; highly organized; excellent customer service and phone skills; ideal learning position for candidate seeking degree in non-profit management/administration; excellent opportunity to learn all aspects of a non-profit’s operation while also learning to manage a workforce.
